These imperfections can be measured when excited by light, such as with the flash of a smartphone, and captured, creating a database of unique fingerprint-like identifiers. This creates a secure tag that can be applied to a vast array of products at a low cost, to verify their authenticity using an everyday smartphone and Quantum Base’s software app.
